I know there are a few who read this headline and got excited, and I'm glad you did, but this isn’t what you thought. The “P” stands for pen in this instance, and I am back to sharing quips, ideas, ruminations and more on the Origin of Original platform. I’ve been gone for a few years and the break was needed.

I completed my undergraduate degree, started working towards my next degree. Stretched myself into professional event planning, and did a whole lot of traveling. It’s important that we collect experiences. Not only to fuel our inspiration, but also to remind us that we are human, and capable and allowed to say nothing.

So what did 2025 look like for me? I touched the continent, and I mean THEE continent. The cradle to all civilization, the mother of all people of melanin. A dream come true, and a long awaited item to cross off the bucket list. I will go into more detail in another post, but it was life changing.

I got very clear on career goals, and what’s important to me. I am an artist, and I am sensitive about my shit. I realized my motherhood, my spirituality, my art, my family, and my work as a birthworker, are clear standouts. I have accomplished so much and still feel as if I have so much further to go.
I owe it to myself to continue to be creative. To capture a piece of me in a space, curated and designed by me, for me. We can make our mark on this world, without money and without fame, but who doesn’t want a little glamour. ;-)

Looking Ahead…

What we can expect in this next chapter of reading, research, and writing, is more pieces about music, culture, and politics. More education material for expectant families (that will probably live on my birthwork site) and more musings about the nuances of living life through the most chaotic time in recent human history.
Also, anticipate some bad writing. I am out of practice and a different person trying to find a new voice. It will take a bit of time. Thank you in advance for your viewership.
